Innovative clinical trials that drive treatment decisions are increasingly designed with consideration of targeting clinically actionable mutations and genomic targets. Although this represents an opportunity to enhance disease outcomes, the reality is that researchers conducting clinical trials may overlook real-time insight into the experience of research participants or how they are living their daily lives, which cannot be ignored. The objective of this article from Worldviews of Evidence-Based Nursing is to investigate the real need to integrate quality of life into clinical trials as a key outcome.
