Psychological Capital: An Introduction to the What, Why, and Now What? - Online Course

Psychological Capital (PsyCap) is a set of internal resources consisting of hope, efficacy, resiliency, and optimism—or HERO—that help navigate personal and professional obstacles to achieve success and foster leadership growth. Because nurses hold a multidimensional and evolving role, serving as educators, change agents, leaders, and mentors, nurses often need to extend their bandwidth to meet the continuous challenges of their profession. As nurses continue to manage the increasing demands, they need a robust set of internal resources to help them be successful.

This course will retire after 1st November 2024.

Learning Outcomes
After participating in this course, learners will be able to:

• Understand positive psychology.
• Define Psychological Capital (PsyCap).
• Recognize the benefits of PsyCap across various settings.
• Determine whether investment in PsyCap would be an appropriate approach to professional and leadership development.

Speaker Bio

Ashley Singh, DNP, RN, EBP-C, is an assistant professor of nursing at Chatham University in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Ashley's scholarly agenda focuses on leadership development - and she has engaged in a number of innovative leadership projects and studies to contribute to this area of research.
